Not too long ago, I talked about a few yeast infection causes. Here is part 2 of that same series and I will be listing a few more causes of yeast infections that you may or may not have known about. It’s really important that women are aware of how they can help prevent yeast infections and what can possibly predispose them to getting one in the first place.

  • Diet: It has been proven that women with diabetes are predisposed to getting a yeast infection and that is because of the amount of sugar in the urine. Eating a lot of sugar is very unhealthy anyway and if eating less of it can help prevent yeast infections, than it’s more than worth it.
  • Sexual Intercourse: Somebody infected with a yeast infection can easily pass it on to their sexual partner if no barriers are used. Females can transfer it females as well as females to males. If there is any suspicion of either partner experience yeast infection symptoms that safe sex methods are used to prevent the transfer of the infection. If one partner is left untreated, they will just continue to pass it right back to the other person.
  • Injury: Injury to the vagina can cause yeast infections. Injuries to the vaginas are usually because of there being too much friction during sexual intercourse. If the vagina isn’t producing enough natural lubricant, use something like Astroglide or K-Y to allow smoother sex with less friction and a much less chance of causing unnecessary injury to the vagina.
  • Weak Immune Systems: Those who have weakened immune systems, either from having HIV or some other kind of disease or condition that weakens the immune system, will have an increased chance of getting yeast infections.

Now that I have outlined 9 yeast infection causes, please be sure to take extra precaution in order to prevent future yeast infections. Natural yeast infection remedies are available if you are currently suffering.
